【大きな決断】　

昨日、日本時間4月2日午後1時、カリフォルニア時間4月1日午後9時、大きな決断をしました。

当初の計画では、東経150度まで西へ進み、そこから福島を目指す予定でしたが、何度も書かせていただいているように、貿易風帯が例年とは異なり非常に弱く、ここから東経150度までさらに風が落ちると、気象予報士から聞き、キャプテン・キース、カークさんからのアドバイスを参考に、二人で考えた結果、東経170度から大きく右に舵を切り、福島を目指しています。

Dream Weaver は頑丈で重たく、楽しいセーリングをするためには、15ノット以上の風が必要です。距離的に約600マイル（約1100 ㎞）短くなります。今のところ、予定より早く着けるのではないかと思われます。

[ Big Decision ]

We made a big decision on April 2nd, 1 p.m., Japan Time (April 1st, 9 p.m., California Time.

Our original plan was to go west until we reach 150E and head north to Fukushima. As we mentioned over and over, the trade wind is very weak this year, then we were told that the winds will be low further west to 150E. After getting some advice / suggestions from our weather forecast advisor, our sailing instructor, Captain Keith and our friend, Kirk, we had discussion and came to the conclusion of changing course and turn right at 170E and head directly to Fukushima.

Dream Weaver a is very strong and heavy boat, so it requires more than 15 kts. winds to have a enjoyable sailing. Our new course will shorten the distance by 600 miles (1,100 km). Now we are expecting our arrival to be earlier than we thought it would be.
