【太平洋上の Dream Weaver のドライバーと JR のドライバー】

風もちょうど良く、気持ちのいいセーリングを続けています。昨晩もセールやブームが暴れることなく、ぐっすり眠ることができました。

太平洋上を西へ西へと進んでいる Dream Weaverを間違って、舵を右に90度切っても、90度左に切っても、そのまま数日間行っても、何もぶつかるものはありません。

それに対して、 JR の運転手は大変です。1秒たりとも遅れのないよう、また、駅到着時はちょっとのズレのないようにしなくてはいけません。

前回東京に行った際、山手線で電車が止まった後、「停車場所がずれていますので少し動きます」との放送の後、数メートル動くのかなと思ったら、なんと10 センチ以内だったのです。驚きました。

太平洋上から、この出来事が象徴するように、日本はストレス社会だと改めて思いました。

[ Difference between drivers on Dream Weaver in the Pacific and JR trains ]

It’s been just right winds, and we are having a great sailing. The sails and booms are stable that I was able to have a good sleep last night.

Dream Weaver is heading west. Even if we take 90° to right, 90°to left by mistake, and keep on going wrong direction, we should not have anything to hit.

In contrast to us, drivers of JR trains are required a high accuracy. They can not delay even a second. Trains need to stop at the exact right spot at stations.

Last time I was in Tokyo, there was an announcement about adjusting the position after once the train has stopped. I thought it would move a few meters, but it was not even 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) !

As I talk about this in the middle of Pacific, I realize, the society suffers from so much stress in Japan.
